St Mary's Church will not be re-opening for the public celebration of Mass until at least August 5th. Provisions must be put in place and volunteers organised in order to meet all the regulations now needing to be observed. Thanks to those who have already indicated their willingness to help. In addition we have building work to be done. For some time we have been aware of the crumbling sandstone window frames in church. These have deteriorated further during lockdown and it is important that these are made safe. Even when open for Mass again it is likely that, for reasons of social distancing, the capacity will be much reduced. If it proves possible to open the church for private prayer before that date, every effort will be made to publicise opening times.
