Masses and Services this Week

Monday - 10am Eucharistic Service                    Tues – 9.30am Mass                     

Wed - 9.30am                                                           Thursday - 9.30am                                    

Friday – 11.30am Rosary - 6.30pm Mass followed by Exposition

Saturday – 10.30 Exposition then Mass at 11am followed by Confessions and Rosary

Next Sunday Masses: 8.30am, 11am, 6.30pm

Today (Sunday) is our "Lourdes at Home" Day

After the 8.30am Mass the Rosary will be prayed with "The Mysteries of Light"

11am Mass then at12 noon we will recite "The Angelus"

There is no coffee/tea after the 11am Mass today

1.30pm - 3pm there will be "Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament" for you to come and pray.

3pm there will be the "Procession of the Blessed Sacrament" and "Blessing of the Sick" and If you are able to bring any people who are sick, that would be great.

There will be a light buffet served in the Rosary Room after this Service.

6.30pm Mass followed by a "Torchlight Procession" whilst we pray the "Joyful Mysteries" of the Rosary. Candles will be issued for this Service.

Pastoral Letter from Bishop John Arnold A Pastoral letter will be read at all Masses this weekend. It focuses on the 3rd Stage of "Hope in the Future" and speaks of a need to make the Mass the centre of our lives and the reception of Communion to be our strength. Copies of the Letter will be available after Mass.

 

November Prayer list If you would like anyone who is deceased to be mentioned on our November Prayer list then please send names to us as soon as possible and no later than the 23rd October.  Mark any correspondence as "November Prayer list."  If there is an anniversary please state and we will attempt to include them on the day. Please do not include a donation with these lists.

 

Blessed John Henry Newman will be canonised in Rome next Sunday 13th by Pope Francis. It will be relayed live on TV, more than likely on EWTN

 

Prisoners Sunday Next Sunday 13th October is a national day of prayer and action for prisoners and their dependents and the start of Prisons Week.  Please find information and donation envelopes for PACT, which is the national Catholic Charity supporting all those entwined in the criminal justice system, at the back of church. There will be a retiring collection as opposed to a second collection.

St Joseph's Fundraiser A "Back to the 80's" night will take place on Friday 11th October 7pm - 11pm at St Joseph's school.  Fancy dress is optional but encouraged! Adult tickets are £5, Children's £3 and a Family Ticket will cost £15.  These are available from school or at https://joeys80snight.eventbrite.co.uk                     Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.

Catholic Hub Catholic Hub is a new monthly event featuring prayer, music and fellowship for young people (over 18s) held at the Cathedral on the second Saturday of every month. Come along to spend some time before the Lord in prayer, hear and join in praise and grow in your faith with other young people.  Starting 12th October at Salford Cathedral from 7.30pm to 10pm, and every second Saturday thereafter.

October is the Month associated with the Rosary Why not try to say a decade on the way to work or school or at home or at work, when you have a quiet moment, or when you need a quiet moment!
