First Communions Many congratulations to those children who have made their First Communion, and also to their families in guiding them. Certificates will be presented at the Sunday Masses during July. Please could parents let the priest know just before Mass that their child is present.

Apostleship of the Sea Next week is Sea Sunday, when the Church prays for all those who live and work at sea.  There will be a second collection for Stella Maris, Apostleship of the Sea, the official maritime welfare agency of the Catholic Church.  It provides practical and spiritual support to seafarers visiting our ports. Prayer cards and Gift Aid envelopes, if applicable, are available at the back of church.

St Joseph's "High School Musical" will take place this Thurs/Fri. Tickets from the school. See the poster in the church porch for more information.

St Joseph’s is hosting the Anne Frank Trust Exhibition in St Anthony’s during July this year. A number of our Y9 History GCSE students are training as official guides to show people around the exhibition and answer their questions. We would be delighted if any member of the parish would like to come along this Thursday 11th July . The exhibition will be open from 12.30pm - 2.30pm. The tour lasts around 30 - 40 minutes.

Rosary Room A meeting has been called to discuss Health & Safety arrangements for the Rosary Room.  If a representative from each group that use the Rosary Room could come along on Sunday 21st July at 12.15pm for a short 15 minutes meeting it would be very much appreciated. We would also like all key holders to return their keys to Geraldine Ratcliffe so that she can make an inventory.  These will be returned promptly.

"Ironman" Please be aware that "Ironman UK" will be held next Sunday 14th July.  This will involve road closures and restrictions in the Horwich area.

New Hymn Books have now been purchased for the use in Church. Please do not remove. If anyone would like a copy of the old hymnal then please speak to one of the priests. The new hymnal has a lot more hymns and Mass settings for us to use. It also has the Mass responses on the first few pages, should we run out of Mass cards with the responses on.

Organist Melanie Plumley, has now retired from being our resident organist. We will now be looking for an organist to play about two Sundays a month. Although Mel will continue to play at Requiems, when requested, we thank her for her time with us during the past few of years.

Volunteer Readers - If you are wishing to be a Reader at Masses in future weeks please attach your name to the PINK list at the back of Church. Readings can be collected from Fr John or Fr Richard.
