Today a Second Collection will be taken for 'Peter's Pence' at all our Masses. The proceeds will assist the work of the Holy See in supporting the most needy and helping church communities in difficulty around the world.

 

First Communions At the 11.00 Mass this Sunday, our second group of children, who have completed the Sacramental Programme, will be making their First Holy Communion.  Please remember them in your prayers. First Communion Certificates will be given out at the Sunday Masses during July.

 

Film Club meets in the Rosary Room this Thursday, July 4th, showing the recent film 'Stan and Ollie.' With brilliant performances from Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly, it tells the untold story of Laurel and Hardy's 1950's tour of Great Britain and Ireland. In the twilight of their careers and facing an uncertain future they set out to make their audiences laugh again. Refreshments from 1.30. All welcome.

 

St Joseph's "High School Musical" will take place July 10th - 12th. Tickets from the school. See the poster in the church porch for more information.

 

St Joseph’s is hosting the Anne Frank Trust Exhibition in St Anthony’s during July this year. A number of our Y9 History GCSE students are training as official guides to show people around the exhibition and answer their questions. We would be delighted if any member of the parish would like to come along on Thursday 11th July . The exhibition will be open from 12.30pm - 2.30pm. The tour lasts around 30 - 40 minutes.  

 

Supporting and Developing Music Ministry Musicians from all our parishes are invited to gather in Deanery groups, to network, share good practice and perhaps pick up a few new ideas. This Monday 1st July, 7.30pm at St William’s Church,  76a Lever Edge Lane, Great Lever, Bolton.

 

Parish Social Action  CARITAS is offering a day of workshops on various issues such as poverty, homelessness and the environment.  This is on this coming Saturday 6th July 10am-3pm at Holy Cross College, Bury, BL9 9BB. Volunteer Readers - If you are wishing to be a Reader at Masses in future weeks please attach your name to the PINK list at the back of Church. Readings can be collected from Fr John or Fr Richard.   The next session of training for Readers is on Saturday at 12noon, meeting in church.  Please come along if you have not yet made it to one of these sessions.
